Toshiba E-Studio 166 Printer Review
Expert review of the Toshiba E-Studio 166 printer
This is a powerful multifunction device that can make the small, growing business more flexible. The small footprint makes the Toshiba E-Studio 166 a space-saver, but it is packed with features that could improve productivity and the workflow. Users may upgrade it with optional features, too, making it versatile for every type of need in the office, but it can be expensive and it lacks support for more operating systems.
Design
An industrial design with a universal build makes the Toshiba E-Studio 166 simple to set up and operate. The control panel is amply sized and well-positioned for easy access, with organised and well-labelled buttons. The E-Studio 166 has a digital copier, laser printer, and a TWAIN scanner with Toshiba Viewer software. The device measures 23.62 inches wide, 18.21 inches tall, and 25.31 inches deep, and weighs approximately 31.8Kg. The standard paper capacity is 250 sheets from the main cassette and 100 sheets from the bypass tray.
Advantages
Auto job start, fast print speeds, and scan once/print many function help save time, while the energy-save and auto sleep modes make the Toshiba E-Studio 166 energy efficient. Output is produced in sharp and consistent detail, with bold and solid text and smooth black-and-white graphics. The copier can produce multiple copies of up to 999 duplicates. High drum and cartridge yields make the Toshiba E-Studio 166 easy to manage and affordable to maintain and run.
Disadvantages
The Toshiba E-Studio 166 does not support newer versions of Windows, Mac, and Linux. It can only print in monochrome. The Toshiba E-Studio 166 is already expensive, but users might have to spend more if they want to increase the memory or integrate additional accessories like the platen cover, 100-sheet automatic document feeder, 250-sheet cassette, and a coin controller harness.
