Toshiba E-Studio 2551C Printer Review
Expert review of the Toshiba E-Studio 2551C printer
A multifunction copier that has print, fax, and scan options, the Toshiba E-Studio 2551C, a compact machine is designed to be lightweight and easy to set-up. It is reasonably fast and environmentally-friendly, with enhanced LED print head technology that is believed to produce accurate and sharper results. While it is good enough for regular office use, its limited print resolution makes it unsuitable for creative projects.
Design
This is a heavy device that weighs 56kg and measures 575mm wide, 662mm tall, and 590mm deep. It runs on 2GB of memory with an 8GB SSD. The base unit has the universal build of an A3 desktop multifunction printer, and is easily expandable with options like the automatic duplexing unit, reversing automatic document feeder, paper feed pedestal, and drawer modules. The standard paper capacity of the Toshiba E-Studio 2551C is 250 sheets for the main cassette and 100 sheets for the stack feed bypass tray. Ethernet is the main interface for the printer. The control panel is a seven-inch colour touch screen.
Advantages
Fax is a built-in feature of the Toshiba E-Studio 2551C. The LED print head reduces energy consumption and improves toner fusion and transfer. Users can minimise paper waste with auto duplexing, nin1, and proof copy features. The larger control panel is easy to operate and configure. The Toshiba E-Studio 2551C is fast, with print speeds of up to 25ppm and a warm-up time that takes approximately 35 seconds. Users can purchase additional memory, a hard disk drive, and extra paper cassettes to expand the device and enhance its security features.
Disadvantages
The resolution of the Toshiba E-Studio 2551C is limited to 600x600dpi, so smaller graphics may appear grainy and washed-out, while the quality of high-resolution graphics can be poorer. The Toshiba E-Studio 2551C is expensive to purchase and upgrade.
