Our Verdict:  

Brother MFC-5895CW ink cartridges 

A multifunction printer with an affordable price tag, the Brother MFC-5895CW is an excellent choice for offices and households on a budget. This compact machine can print, scan and copy A3 size documents, and offers fax capabilities as well. The machine also offers decent print quality and fast data transfer via wired USB connectivity or through its wireless and network interfaces. However, many users complain about high ink costs, which is almost always a problem with inkjets.

Design

The Brother MFC-5895CW is a wide-format printer with a large footprint, measuring 19.1x16.1x9.5 inches. The machine is designed for mid-volume work, with a monthly duty cycle of up to 2000 imprints. The Brother MFC-5895CW features a widescreen colour display, and slots for different media cards, PictBridge and USB Flash Memory.

Advantages

In addition to high-yield ink cartridges, the Brother MFC-5895CW also boasts built in wireless and network connectivity, PC fax, and compatibility with all major computer operating systems. The machine can also be used independently from a computer, saving energy and boot-up time. Print quality is also high at 6000x1200dpi. Other plus points include the addition of a 50-sheet ADF, and full fax facilities. Customers also love its low upfront cost, though running costs are a different story.

Disadvantages

The Brother MFC 5895CW however, projects high running costs because of expensive ink. Print speeds are good, but not as fast as other MFPs in the same range, especially when printing wide format, A3 documents.
