Our Verdict:  

Brother MFC-6890CDW ink cartridges 

This high-end A3 multifunction inkjet printer boasts excellent connectivity options and time-saving features to help increase productivity in a small office. The Brother MFC-6890CDW is aimed at users seeking an efficient, low-cost, and user-friendly device. However, the copier is quite unreliable and slow, and the photo print quality is unsatisfactory.

Design

This 34.4-pound multifunction printer is a big and bulky machine at 21.3 inches wide, 12.7 inches tall, and 19.2 inches deep. It is equipped with a Super G3 hi-speed 33.6 Kbps fax modem, a colour flatbed scanner, and a colour copier. The printer runs on colour inkjet technology and uses the 4 ink cartridge system. The Brother MFC-6890CDW boasts high paper capacity (350 sheets) and an additional 250-sheet tray can be purchased by high volume users. It’s possible to restrict public access to the printer with the revolutionary ‘Secure Function Lock.’

Advantages

The Brother MFC 6890CDW is fairly quiet at 50 dBA when in use. The large colour TouchScreen LCD display is another advantage; it makes navigating the menu and printing directly from a USB flash drive or digital camera easier. The copier can be used as a standalone device while the fax feature is compatible with black-and-white PC fax. The Brother MFC-6890CDW can both be integrated into a wired or wireless network. The unit also comes with an auto-duplexer and auto document feeder, and uses high-yield ink cartridges.

Disadvantages

Unfortunately, the Brother MFC6890CDW is expensive and is not the speediest in the market. While it can work as a standalone copier, it cannot be a substitute to a real copy machine. Users who need a printer for graphics and pictures should look for a better model because the Brother MFC-6890CDW’s photo print quality is below average.
