Canon Pixma iP7600 Printer Review

Expert review of the Canon Pixma iP7600 printer 10 April 2012

Our Verdict:

The Canon Pixma iP7600 is an excellent choice for those looking to produce quality photos as well as documents on plain paper, and even specialty media. It runs on various operating systems and uses a multi-ink system to ensure vibrant colours and excellent detail. The Canon Pixma iP7600 boasts a resolution of up to 4800x2400dpi for both colour and black outputs, but like inkjets, can be costly to run because of high ink costs.

Design

Sharing the same box-type design as its brothers in the series, the Canon Pixma iP7600 features a front-yield paper tray and an intuitive control panel for accessing basic printer functions. Connectivity is via high-speed USB. The Canon Pixma iP7600 can also print wirelessly, through an optional Bluetooth adapter.

Advantages

Aside from producing high resolution output, the Canon Pixma iP7600 boasts borderless printing capabilities and excellent print speeds. Vibrant 4x6–inch photos come out in as fast as 47 seconds, while larger A4-sized outputs take just a little over a minute.

Disadvantages

The Canon Pixma iP7600 can be expensive to run because replacement cartridges are expensive, which is a common issue with ink jets. Still, its use of individual cartridges for each ink colour somehow cuts down the costs. Paper jams can be a problem, but overall, the printer does its job of printing quality photos very well.
