Deskjet 2510 cartridge use see 1 answer

I'm thinking of buying the HP 2510 printer. Can you tell me whether this printer can still print in black if the colour cartridge is empty? I currently have an Epson printer and if one colour is empty the printer won't do anything, even scan?
  • As with the majority of colour inkjet printers, the HP Deskjet 2510 will normally require that both the black and colour ink cartridges are installed with some remaining ink in order to print anything. Unfortunately, we're not best placed to offer you advice on the specific functions of each individual printer so you might be better off speaking to HP or Epson about which products are most suitable for you. We do suggest that if you only need to print in black then you consider buying a monochrome printer.

HP Deskjet 2510 Ai0 black only printing see 1 answer

I'm thinking of buying this Deskjet 2510 printer just for printing black and white text documents. I already have a Canon printer for photos etc. Will it work for this? Just buying and using black ink cartridges - leaving the colour ones untouched? Hope it's not a daft question! Thanks.
  • We wouldn't recommend purchasing a colour inkjet printer such as the HP Deskjet 2510 if you only require black and white printing. The reason for this is that you'll need to have both the black and colour cartridges installed with some ink in them at all times to print in any colour which might be counterproductive for you if you don't need to print colour documents. It may also be the case that the colour cartridge does get used in small amounts for monochrome printing although we can't confirm this. However, if you wish to print black and white documents only then the Deskjet 2510 will do this job effectively, it just may require that you replace the colour cartridge from time to time.

HP Deskjet 2510 cartridge compatibility see 1 answer

Hi, my model says on the printer case "HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 2515". My question is simple, what's the cartridge number for my printer please? My old ones that came with the machine are 650 but I'm confused? Thanks, David.
  • This page lists cartridges for the HP Deskjet 2510 printer. Unfortunately, the HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 2515 appears to be a non-UK printer model so we're unable to supply you with the correct cartridges. Ink cartridges are specific to the region in which you purchased the printer so you need to use cartridges with the correct number based on where you bought the printer. Please contact HP directly so they can advise you which are the correct cartridge numbers for use in a non-UK printer model. Cartridge save can only supply the correct ink cartridges for use in UK printer models.

HP Deskjet 2510 Printer Review

Expert review of the HP Deskjet 2510 printer 14 May, 2013

Our Verdict:

A home office that needs a fast and user-friendly printer will appreciate the HP Deskjet 2510 all-in-one for its sleek design, minimalist control panel, and multifunction capabilities. The HP Deskjet 2510 multifunction printer, also referred to as the HP CX027B, is more versatile in handling different kinds of media and is relatively fast when printing monochrome documents, but some users might be disappointed with the print speeds of photos and the overall quality of coloured output.

Design

Weighing approximately 4.6Kg, the HP Deskjet 2510 printer is a compact multifunction device with a stylish matte enclosure measuring 6.25 inches tall, 16.5 inches wide, and 10.5 inches deep. The Hewlett Packard Deskjet 2510 inkjet printer doesn't require much installation space because the output tray in front can be folded when not in use. The topmost part of the Deskjet 2510 MFP is home to the flatbed scanner and copier.

Advantages

The small and compact footprint is a bonus for a small home office or a cramped desktop. Featuring minimal buttons, the HP Deskjet 2510 colour multifunction printer is more user-friendly for amateurs because they can be guided by on-screen instructions on how to operate and configure the printer. USB connectivity means faster data processing. The scanner of the HP Deskjet 2510 is TWAIN-compliant, and there is a bundled software package for ease of use. The Deskjet 2510 can use HP 301 or high capacity HP 301XL ink cartridges for a cheaper cost-per-print.

Disadvantages

The scanner of the HP Deskjet 2510 doesn't produce the most accurate results. The copier is slow. The HP Deskjet 2510 all-in-one inkjet printer also lacks built-in card readers, a PictBridge port, and a USB port for flash drives. Mobile printing isn't supported, and there are no networking options.
