Replacement HP F2280 ink cartridges see 1 answer
I want to print photos on my HP Deskjet F2280. The black cartridge is finished and the colour cartridge low. I have two questions; A). What is the best / cheapest option for photos and can the HP 58 cartridge be used alone? B). What is the cheapest option for renewal of the black / colour cartridges?
To get the best quality photos from your machine you should consider using a photo colour HP 58 cartridge (this replaces the black cartridge) and works alongside the tri colour cartridge. It cannot work alone.
The cheapest option for photo colour ink is the compatible HP 58 photo colour cartridge seen here:
For renewal of black and colour Deskjet F2280 print cartridges the cheapest option is again to buy compatibles rather than genuine HP inks. Therefore, we would recommed buying this cheap compatible HP 21 and HP 22 ink cartridge multipack:Answered by Daniel Zieba (Staff Member) - over 1 year ago

HP Deskjet F2280 Printer Review
Expert review of the HP Deskjet F2280 printer 26 April, 2011
An entry-level multifunction printer, the F2280 from HP is a one-stop-shop, designed for users looking for an affordable and easy to use all-in-one printer. Whether youíre photocopying books, scanning old holiday photos or printing documents, the F2280 is here to help. HP printers are renowned for their reliability and the F2880 is no exception, it is built to last and will definitely withstand the test of time.
The HP F2280 inkjet printer could be described as minimalistic - with its plain white and grey case Ė others would just call it plain boring. HP has really cut costs in the design department for this one. Disappointingly, the F2280 lacks a display screen opting instead for a handful of control buttons that control the copier and some warning lights just in case youíre running low on ink. The plus side to having the bare minimum is that the F2280 is small and compact, making it ideal if you have limited space in your home study or bedroom.
All-in-one printers often get bad press with critics claiming companies simply throw on the scanner with little thought for quality. Fortunately this isnít the case with the HP F2280 inkjet printer. The flatbed scanner produces great results Ė images and documents look clear with no signs of quality deterioration. Print quality is equally impressive with text documents looking sharp, regardless of font size. Unfortunately, colour graphics and photographs didnít fare so well, with images suffering from contrast issues and fading.
One of the F2280ís biggest downfalls is print speed, expect around 6ppm for standard text documents and 4ppm for colour. Photo printing is even slower with a 10cmx15cm print taking over one and half minutes. And it isnít just the printer thatís slow, the scanner and copier also suffer from the same problem. HP have also overlooked network functionality- it would have been nice to see a memory card reader or Wi-Fi added to the printer, setting it aside from some of the other low-end all-in-ones.
