Xerox TF-4075 Printer Review

Expert review of the Xerox TF-4075 printer 04 January 2013

Our Verdict:

The Xerox office fax TF-4075 simplifies fax transmissions, telecommunications, and text messaging with an understated but professional machine that comes with a handset, full QWERTY keyboard, and a 14.4Kbps modem. Unlike its predecessor, the TF4075 fax is integrated with additional features to make it more user-friendly and easier to manage, but it has a few setbacks that could affect productivity in the small office.

Design

Weighing 3Kg and measuring 313mm wide, 126mm tall, and 195mm in diameter, the Xerox TF-4075 thermal transfer fax with telephone answering machine and copier is a small and lightweight device that can be placed inconspicuously on any desk without taking up too much space. It has a comprehensive operator panel, a 50-page input tray, and a telephone handset. The TF-4075 office fax machine features a QWERTY keypad and a separate number pad, plus one-touch operational buttons and a small display screen.

Advantages

The Xerox TF4075 fax is G3 compatible and there are time-saving features like speed dials, redialling of the last 10 numbers, and a 10-page ADF. The device is integrated with an answering machine, which can store 30 minutes of messages. The versatile telephone handset of the Xerox TF-4075 fax printer can be managed as a cordless phone. SMS function is available over landline. The genuine Xerox TF-4075 fax ribbon produces high quality black and white output.

Disadvantages

It uses thermal transfer, so output may fade over time and pages may curl. The TF-4075 thermal transfer fax is also prone to paper jam. The ink that comes with the package runs out fast. The copier can only produce up to 15 copies. It can be difficult to type on the QWERTY keypad of the Xerox TF 4075 fax machine, while the display screen is too small for previewing, so users may need to print out the draft of their message before sending, which wastes ink.
