Buying MLT-P1082A toner cartridges see 1 answer

I wish to purchase the MLT-D1082S toner cartridge for my Samsung ML1640. You have on offer a pack of two which I'm willing to purchase for the added value but, as I do very little printing, will the second cartridge be in top condition if I don't install it for up to a year? I'm assuming I will store it in its packaging so it will remain in good condition?

  • As long as the Samsung MLT-D1082S toner is stored in a cool, dry place it should be fine to keep in storage for up to a year. Before installation, I would recommend rocking the cartridge gently from side to side as it is likely the toner powder will settle during storage.

I entered my printer - ML1640 and your recommended best match was a double cartridge offer - genuine Samsung etc. I can't see the model number now (this pop-up window blocks it) so I can't tell you what it is, but my current cartridge is the MLT-D1082S. Clearly, I'd rather have the slightly cheaper option but I'm concerned that it is second best - not the one I should be using. I don't want to damage my printer or have inferior printing?

how do you get the old cartridges to refill? You need the old cartridges but nobody knows how to reuse them so they end up in the waste dumps. How do you collect the old cartridges?

Samsung ML-1640 toner cartridges 

The Samsung ML-1640 Mono laser printer is an inexpensive, straightforward machine for the home or office which is both easy to use and to maintain. Like most laser printers, the quality is enough to satisfy the basic needs of small office users as well as those who need the ability to print text and black-and-white photos from home.

Design

This machine boasts a capacity of 150 sheets and includes a starter cartridge which is good for 700 pages of print. However, a standard cartridge, which is sold separately, has a print capacity of 1,500 pages. The cartridge which comes included with this machine is a combined drum and Samsung ML-1640 toner cartridge which fits snugly into the back of the machine for it to work properly. It has three simple indicator controls on the top of the machines. One indicates low Samsung ML-1640 toner, another is to indicate power and data, and one button is used to cancel print jobs.

Advantages

The simple box design will appeal to a no-nonsense office or home user who needs to print out reports and other text documents on a regular basis. Small businesses and individual users on a tight budget will appreciate the price tag, as well as the inelegant yet simple design which allows users to quickly figure out its most basic functions so that they can use it as a go-to printer.
