Design

The HP Photosmart C4150 looks like an oversized desktop printer with the scanner and copier dominating the top centre of the 17.4-inch wide body. Despite being quite heavy at 11.9 lbs, the printer is surprisingly compact at 6.4 inches tall and 11.4 inches in diameter. It also has built-in slots for memory cards, and the standard memory is 31MB. HP gave it a more advanced thermal inkjet colour photo printing technology with a maximum printing resolution of up to 4800x1200 dpi in colour. The scanner's resolution can be enhanced to 19200x19200 for more accurate colours and appearance.

Advantages

Seven types of flash memory (including memory stick duo, MMC, and CompactFlash) are supported by the HP Photosmart C4150, allowing you to print directly. When in fast mode, the printer can produce up to 30 ppm in monochrome and 24 ppm in colour. The 2.4-inch display is large enough for previewing pictures from your memory cards before printing them. The HP Photosmart C4150 is also capable of automatically enhancing your scanned documents because of HP Real Life Technologies.

Disadvantages

The paper feeder is one of the weaknesses of the HP Photosmart C4150 because it is prone to paper jams. Some users also report unsatisfactory customer support once the limited warranty expires. The manufacturer could have provided high-yield ink cartridges for the HP Photosmart C4150 to cut down the costs of ownership. This printer can suffer from sluggish speeds, especially when printing in 'best' mode or in maximum dpi.
