a message comes up on my printer X543 of "122.03 service fuser errror what does this mean and can I buy a fuser on e-bay

  • This error code would usually indicate there is a problem with the temperature of the fuser unit. I would recommend contacting Lexmark for more advice- they may have steps in placed to repair this.

Our Verdict:  

Lexmark X543 toner cartridges 

The Lexmark X543 printer is aimed at small offices and places of business and designed for heavy use in a roomy area. While it does skimp on a few features that a printer in this class should come standard with, it is a decent workhorse and produces quality prints in bulk.

Design

A large 50 sheet Automatic Document Feeder, or ADF, is perched along the back and dominates a the majority of landscape on this machine. The control panel runs along the front of the printer with a 16 character, 2 line LCD display and a large array of buttons including a number pad and menu navigation. The base model comes with a 250 sheet paper tray but Lexmark gives an option for a 500 sheet tray which includes a 100 sheet multi purpose feed in a single add-on. The plugs in the rear support both an Ethernet or USB for the transfer of data.

Advantages

This is a sturdy machine and will suffice for nearly all office applications. Lexmark rated this device at around 20 pages per minute, but it generally will max out with about 16 pages when printing in black. Along with this quick speed comes the 30,000 page long-life cartridge drums which makes maintenance a breeze. Lexmark offers a wide range of supporting software for the X543, from Linux to OS X. It also possesses a quick duplex print which is a necessary feature in many offices.

Disadvantages

There are a few drawbacks with this machine though. Notably, printers of this size generally will include a fax which may be a deciding factor for many small businesses.
