HP Laserjet 3055 toner cartridges 

The HP LaserJet 3055 is a multipurpose printer that sends and receives faxes, scans in monochrome, prints in both colour and monochrome and is ideal for homes and students. The printer is easy to use and its printing speed is 16 pages per minute while it scans colour documents at 600 dpi. It weighs quite light and doesn't take up much space, thus perfect for homes with limited space.

Design

The HP 3055 toner printer makes use of a vertical scanner instead of the design featured on most LaserJet scanners such as the LaserJet 3030. Underneath the printer, there is a sheet tray that handles 550 sheets and 10 sheets of envelopes, heavy paper stock and letterhead paper. The HP 3055 toner printer has a button that, if pressed, opens the top part of the printer and exposes the toner imaging/cartridge drum. The back of the HP 3055 features a parallel port, USB 2.0 port as well as a telephone jack. The HP 3055 comes with a clear LCD control panel that simplifies the work of using the printer. In fact, the control panel puts buttons in groups such as fax setup, numeric keypad and a set of speed dials.

Advantages

This printer is small, multipurpose and does not eat up a lot of space. This makes it suitable to be used by students and in small home offices. Similar to other HP printers, an HTML viewer installs in the HP LaserJet 3055 making it possible to monitor its performance from a personal computer. The printer also comes with a program that converts scanned documents into text format. The HP 3055 toner printer has a substantial storage space of 32MB and thus is able to store about 250 fax pages. The use of the sheetfed design also succeeds in keeping the price of the printer down.

Disadvantages

Although the HP 3055's sheetfed design makes it affordable, this feature also makes it hard for the printer to copy, scan or fax pages bound in a magazines or books. It is also unable to handle huge stacks of documents. Even though the text output is clear and crisp, a few dark and grainy spots can be observed.
