Hi, I would like to know is CLP325W & CLP310 laser color ink cartridges compatible? As I would like to change from CLP310 laser ink printer to CLP325W model.

  • The Samsung CLP-325W and Samsung CLP-310 printer use different toner cartridges. They can not be swapped between machines.

Our Verdict:  

Samsung CLP-310 toner cartridges 

While it has many strong entries in the laser printing market, the CLP-310 is one of Samsung's slower models and might not be the best choice for those who require quick printing and multiple functions.

Design

All of Samsung's laser printers are known for being compact, efficient models and the CLP-310 entry from the company at least accomplishes one of those goals in that it's very compact. The printer's design comes in at 15" x 12" x 10" which makes it among the smaller colour laser printers currently available for purchase. For small desks - or desks that are simply too cluttered - it's a great choice that will get the job done. Replacing Samsung CLP-310 toner is a doodle and won't take you very long to do.

Disadvantages

But when it tries to get the job done, the Samsung CLP-310 takes its grand old time, printing black pages at about nine pages per minute. In fact, the first page of each black-and-white text print took a good 20 to 25 seconds to emerge from the printer; from there on, each page took roughly five seconds. It's not terrible, but this printing rate is far below the expectations set by Samsung's other models - let alone competing brands. For colour prints, the CP-310 is even less impressive. Samsung rates the printer at four colour pages per minute but, when tested, the printer managed to spit out only two colour prints per minute. Those who plan to do lots of colour printing will want to look elsewhere or risk constant frustration.

Likewise, users with large home networks will not be attracted to this particular Samsung model as it includes only a standard USB 2.0 port. This port will definitely allow the printer to interface with any modern computer, but connecting it to a wired or wireless router is simply out of the realm of possibilities. It's a peculiar choice, given that the back of the printer seems to feature a cut-out in its plastic that hints at a potential network port.

Overall, the Samsung CLP-310 is below the high standard set by previous and competing Samsung colour printers. Its page per minute rates are the lowest of the low, and its lack of network support is perplexing in an era of small business and home offices that rely on networking features. It's a good choice for a home user who doesn't require fast printing or networking - above and beyond that, however, this one is best left on the shelf.
