Our Verdict:  

Canon IRC-3880 toner cartridges 

The Canon IRC-3880 is one the most space-saving, secure, and efficient colour printers for the office. It ensures professional finishes and presentation-worthy documents with a matte finish, but it is a big and rather costly machine that may not be the best option for a budget-conscious small office.



Design

The Canon IRC-3880 is an A3 desktop multifunction device with a 600dpi copier and printer. Running on a 533MHz+400MHz Canon custom processor with a 1 GB memory, the printer is able to copy, scan, and print fast and run on an Ethernet-based network. The 80GB hard disk drive installed on the Canon IRC3880 lets users save data in the printer and use the intelligent security settings to keep their documents secure and data encrypted. Canon also integrated the iWAM software for easy management over a network.

Advantages

With a speedy processor and generous memory, colour prints come out at 30 ppm with a matte finish while black-and-white prints on A4 media come out at 33ppm. The duplexer helps save resources, and the ACS feature contributes to long-term ink savings. The Canon IRC-3880 is integrated with the latest data encryption technology and other security features. Downtime is minimised with iWMC (IW Management Console), the web-based feature for centralised network management.

Disadvantages

One of the setbacks of acquiring the Canon IRC 3880 printer is the size, which tends to take up a lot of space especially when placed in a small room. The Canon IRC-3880 is of course heavy, too, and the colour printing feature may be unnecessary for some users that only need a large printer/copier for plain text documents. The professional finishing options may be useless for some offices as a further note of caution where the IRC-3880 is concerned.
