Epson Stylus C80 Printer Review
Expert review of the Epson Stylus C80 printer
28 February 2014
The Epson Stylus C80 is a powerful single-function printer with versatile connectivity options, average print speeds, and excellent print quality. It can produce documents that are resistant to fading and water damage, thanks to Epson's DuraBrite ink technology. The Epson Stylus C80 offers a higher monthly duty cycle of up to 5,000 impressions, making it a more powerful device than previous Epson Stylus models. The Stylus C80 printer is ideal for home offices and even for small businesses, although it still has a limited input-tray capacity of only 150 sheets.
The Epson Stylus C80 colour inkjet printer has larger dimensions though it is still compact enough for desktop installation. The Stylus C80 weighs 17 pounds, a lot heavier than previous models as it includes 4 individual ink tanks. It has versatile connectivity options including parallel and USB ports, and even wireless and networking options.
The Epson Stylus C80 printer is inexpensive to run, since users will only have to replace depleted ink tanks, rather than throwing away an entire tri-colour tank when one colour runs empty. The Epson C80 colour inkjet prints a lot faster, at 20 ppm for black and white and 10 ppm for colour prints. The Epson Stylus C80 also offers high-resolution turn outs up to 2880x270 dpi. With optional networking and wireless options, this printer is a good choice for small workgroups that need to share a printer.
While the Epson Stylus C-80 printer has workgroup features, it still has a limited input tray capacity, which limits productivity. Colour print rates are still slow, especially when using maximum resolution settings on the Stylus C80.
