Designed to be a fuss-free fax machine and printer in one, the HP Fax 1220 is an efficient multifunction device aimed at home and small office. It is made for low-volume faxing and printing needs and boasts decent copy and scan functions. However, this device is flimsily-designed. Lack of customer support is also a problem.
Design
The HP Fax 1220 weighs 21.5 pounds, which is quite heavy for a compact device. The selling point of this device is the fax machine, which is integrated with multiple dialling modes (manual, monitor, and program), a 33.6 Kbps modem, and an image memory of up to 90 entries. It also has a 36-bit colour 600x600 dpi copier. Both the automatic document feeder and output tray of the HP Fax 1220 can accommodate 16 to 24-pound paper.
Advantages
This multifunction printer is a space-saver and is very versatile. It is often praised for its low initial cost and the speedy fax machine, which is also integrated with a copy function.
