HP Officejet 700 Printer Review
Expert review of the HP Officejet 700 printer
A small or home office that needs a space-saving multifunction device will appreciate the HP Officejet 700. The HP Officejet 700 all-in-one is compact and feature-packed for efficient fax transmissions and document scanning, but it is quite outdated, lacks networking solutions, and is too slow for a bustling workplace.
Design
An understated appearance allows the HP Officejet 700 inkjet printer to blend well into a small but professional environment. The main control panel lies on the top left-hand side of the device and it consists of a small display screen and neatly-organised buttons to operate the HP 700 on-board. The digital copier and sheet-fed scanner are built around the inkjet colour printer. The entire device weighs about 6.8kg and it measures 8.1 inches tall, 11.2 inches deep, and 16.9 inches wide.
Advantages
Users get a scanner, copier, fax machine, and colour printer in one with the HP Officejet 700. Text documents have sharper characters because of the maximum 600x600dpi monochrome resolution. The fax machine of the HP Officejet 700 multifunction printer is compatible with G3 technology and PC faxing, and it is well-equipped with features like an answering machine interface, auto redial, and distinctive ring pattern detection.
Disadvantages
The HP Officejet 700 all-in-one printer is only compatible with MS Windows NT 4.0, making it rather outdated for newer operating systems. Another problem is the print speed, which is only up to 2ppm in colour and 5ppm in monochrome. Users should not expect the best results with colour output because of the 300x300dpi colour resolution of the Officejet 700 inkjet printer. The device shouldn't be relied upon as a standalone copier because it is slow.
