Fast and efficient, the HP PageWide Pro 477DW multi-use printer is ideal for office use and for larger projects undertaken. Featuring printing, scanning, copying and faxing functions, as well as an easily accessible control panel, the printer is easy to use, although its size discounts it from home offices.

Design

Weighing 22.15kg and measuring 530 x 407 x 467 mm, the HP PageWide Pro 477DW boasts a range of functions, including image adjustment, double-sided copying and printing and the ability to reduce and enlarge documents via the scanner panel. The printer can handle standard documents, booklet printing and cover pages, as well as envelopes and cards printed on a variety of materials. For large jobs, the printer has three available paper trays, while tray selection, scaling and paper orientation can be changed. The HP PageWide Pro 477DW has wireless printing, as well as wired connectivity. It holds four ink cartridges: black and one each of magenta, yellow and cyan.

Advantages

The HP PageWide Pro 477DW boasts low running costs and its ink can be sourced widely. In addition, the printer features wireless connectivity, which can be managed via HP ePrint, HP Mobile Apps, Apple AirPrint and more. There is also a print preview option, automatic double-sided printing and shortcuts that make print jobs easy to handle. Job notification enables users to manage their time and projects effectively, while the scan and save option means that documents can be sent to almost any destination, or sent straight to email. The HP PageWide Pro 477DW has a duty cycle of 50,000 impressions per month and its input tray has a maximum capacity of 150 sheets. In terms of print speed, the printer boasts 40 ppm for ordinary and resolutions of 1200x1200 dpi for monochrome, 2400x1200 dpi for colour and 300x300 dpi for fax. The fax machine features auto-redial and can handle 4 pages per second.

Disadvantages

While the HP PageWide Pro 477DW has many benefits, it is on the large side; this is fine for office use, but makes the printer cumbersome and inconvenient for homeowners and small offices. In addition to its size, some users have reported that the scan resolution could be higher, as the quality of impressions isn’t as high as it could be.
