This printer is a good choice for users seeking a budget-friendly but intelligent all-in-one device for their office. The Kodak Hero 7.1 is integrated with smart features like direct and wireless printing, but it still has poor print speeds, an outdated ink cartridge system. Graphics and text printout quality is sub-par.
Design
The Kodak Hero 7.1 is designed to be energy-efficient and user-friendly with a touch-screen interface and a sleek matte-finished body, which is fingerprint-resistant. A memory card slot can accommodate standard MMC, SD, and Memory Stick cards. Beside that is a USB port (PictBridge-friendly). Those features let users print directly from their digital camera or memory card and navigate through the pictures easily using the large 3.5-inch colour LCD screen. Users can also enjoy built-in Wi-Fi on the Kodak Hero 7.1, as well as a high-resolution scanner.
Advantages
The scanner is integrated with Perfect Page technology that corrects images and makes look better than the hard copy. There is a dedicated 40-sheet paper tray for photos, and it is possible to print directly from a tablet PC and smartphone while on-the-go because of apps like Kodak Pic Flick and Google Cloud Print. Setting up the Kodak Hero 7.1 is easy with the touchscreen interface and the helpful installation CD. The copier makes accurate copies of documents and pictures.
Disadvantages
At 5.5 ppm in colour and 8.5 ppm in monochrome, the Kodak Hero 7.1 is still slow (like many of its predecessors). The quality on text and photo prints is not impressive, and the paper tray's capacity is only up to 100 sheets, which is insufficient for bulk printing needs in the office. Unfortunately, the Kodak Hero 7.1 does not have a fax machine, which is one of the sought-after features these days.
