As a monochrome printer, the Lexmark M1246 printer model does not feature any added functionality such as copying, faxing or scanning. This laser printer produces high-quality black and white prints up to A4 size and includes an integrated duplexer. Designed to fit easily on the corner of a desk, the Lexmark M1246 has a black and beige colour scheme that is suitable for most office settings. Functionally, this printer is a good fit for most small to medium workgroups that require only monochrome printing.
At a weight of approximately 31.1lb, the single-function Lexmark M1246 printer measures 10.2 x 15.7 x 14.7 inches. With standard Ethernet and USB connections, this printer includes wireless connectivity as optional and makes use of a 2.4-inch colour LCD display. To expand its paper capacity, the Lexmark M1246 includes the option to add up to three additional 550-page paper trays as well as a 250-page paper tray.
With a standard paper capacity of 250 sheets with an additional 100-sheet by-pass tray, the M1246 Lexmark laser printer should meet the needs of most small to medium workgroups that require black and white printing only. The optional additional cassettes allow the capacity to be expanded to a maximum of 2,000 pages. Capable of a maximum printing speed of 46 ppm, this printer has an average recommended duty cycle of 2,000 to 15,000 pages per month, with a maximum duty cycle of 120,000 pages per month.
As a monochrome-only printer, the Lexmark M1246 printer model does not support colour printing or copying, faxing or scanning. If additional paper cassettes are added to the printer, some users may find that the display and buttons are rather high up when the printer is sitting on a normal-height desk. An alternative device may be better suited for businesses that are looking to perform colour printing or any copying or scanning.
