The Samsung ML-1860 is a mono-laser printer that allows one-touch printing via its quick Print Screen button. This basic monochromatic printer is great for everyday use, and is for homes and offices in need of a specific machine to do average-volume draft or monochrome copy printing. Those in need of a full colour printer or machine with a more comprehensive set of features need to look at other models.
Design
The Samsung ML-1860 is a compact 341 x 224 x 184 mm device that is perfect for limited desk spaces. It boasts silent operation, with noise levels less than 50dBA during operation. It features a standard USB 2.0 interface, and a large enough 150-sheet cassette input tray, with a 100-sheet facedown output capacity. The Samsung ML-1860 uses a 1-piece cartridge and a powerful 300MHz processor.
Advantages
Some of the best features of the Samsung ML-1860 include one-touch printing, easy-to-operate AnyWeb Print software, and fast print speeds of up to 18ppm for A4 size documents and 19ppm for legal size prints. It also features energy saving capabilities, including a stand-by mode, which can easily be switched back to full power for quick printing.
Disadvantages
The Samsung ML-1860 can only print black and white and is impractical for some settings. It certainly lags behind multicolour printers, but is still a reliable and extremely cost-effective device for offices that only need monochrome prints.
