The Brother DCP-J785DWXL is a cost-effective choice for homes and small offices. It takes high capacity cartridges and performs a range of different functions, despite its compact size. Complete with wireless compatibilities, it also provides scanning and copying functions. Finished in a glossy-back design, it is small enough to fit onto a shelf or desk without dominating the space. To speed up any print job, this machine has an Automatic Document Feeder capable of handling 20 sheets at a time.

Design

The Brother DCP-J785DWXL measures 341w x 420d x 172h mm, and it weighs 8.4kg. As an inkjet printer, it can produce great-quality images and documents without smudging, and has a helpful LCD touchscreen. From this 6.8cm interface, users can scan, print or copy and get online to access cloud services. The duplex function and feeder tray help this printer to reach speeds of up to 10 colour pages and 12 mono pages per minute. In order for this printer to deal with envelopes and other types of special media, there is a manual bypass slot.

Advantages

Along with copying, printing and scanning, this small printer boasts a generous yield per month of 2,400 monoprints and 1,200 colour prints. It will also produce double-sided copies at the flick of a switch and has an ink-saving mode to reduce cartridge costs. The wireless sharing feature means that users can choose to print straight from their smart device, be it a phone, tablet or laptop, or a cloud service such as Google Cloud Print or AirPrint.

Disadvantages

Although the Brother DCP-J785DWXL printer is capable of interfacing with a PC using a wired connection, the cable is not included in the box. This will be disappointing to buyers who expect to use this feature immediately.
