The Canon iB4155 is a basic inkjet printer that provides good results in both mono and colour printing. It is a reasonably-priced machine, but before purchasing, it is necessary to consider all office or home needs. There is no scan, copy or fax function, so if these are likely to be needed now or in the future, other devices will need to be purchased.

With a large ink and paper capacity, this printer is likely to best suit a small business or home office that needs to print good-quality documents and images from multiple devices.

Design

The dimensions of the Canon Maxify iB4155 are 463 x 394 x 290mm, and it comes in black, which fits in well with most home or office colour schemes. Connectivity is achieved via Ethernet or Wi-Fi. A full-dot display makes it easy to monitor the printer’s status.

Print resolution is up to 600 x 1200dpi, and it can print up to 24ppm in mono and 15ppm in colour. The monthly duty cycle is 30,000 pages, and the printer has a 500-sheet paper cassette, so less time is spent on paper refills.

Advantages

The Wi-Fi connection of the Canon Maxify iB4155 allows printing tasks to be carried out from multiple desktops, laptops and smart devices, and provides more options as to where the printer can be placed, as it does not need to be physically connected to the device it is printing from. Extra-large ink tanks allow for a greater length of time between refills, resulting in less printer downtime, and it has a large paper capacity.

Disadvantages

The Canon Maxify iB4155 has no copy, scan or fax function. If these are needed, then other devices will be needed, meaning extra expense and using up more space, but if you already have a serviceable alternative and need an additional print-only device these missing features will help keep the cost down.
