Canon MultiPass C755 Printer Review
Expert review of the Canon MultiPass C755 printer
The Canon MultiPass C755 is a colour multifunction printer which includes a copier, fax machine and scanner. Printing speeds are adequate for a household or small business. The fast fax speeds and one touch scanning are also useful and work well. Ink cartridges last well and there is a handy warning when ink is running low. Unfortunately, this may continue to be displayed after replacing. Installing this printer with various windows operating systems is consistent and often fraught with difficulty. The print quality is variable, with it often falling short of the standard you might expect from a Canon printer with lines and splotches appearing on the document.
Design
The Canon MultiPass C755 has printing speeds of 9 ppm for monochrome printing and 4 ppm for colour documents. Printing resolution is 1440x720 dpi. The machine has a sturdy, white casing and dimensions of 43 x 43.7 x 24.4 cm. Connection is achieved via a parallel or USB interface. The paper capacity is 100 sheets which is stored in the paper feeder on the rear of the machine. The printer is managed from the extensive control panel on the front of the printer which includes a number of buttons and a 1-line LCD screen for monitoring its operations.
Advantage
Utilising 33.6 technology, the Canon MultiPass C755 achieves high speed faxing. There is automated one-touch scanning, so you can fax and copy without using a PC. An optical sensor alerts you to when your ink is running low. Replacing the ink cartridges is straight forward, resulting in minimal downtime.
Disadvantages
The low ink notification on the Canon MultiPass C755 frequently continues to show even after ink has been replaced. Upgrading to various versions of Windows can cause problems with this printer. The quality of the printing tends to be patchy.
