This very affordable colour inkjet printer has very decent speeds and a compact body, which makes its suitable for users that require a personal printer for their pictures, homework, and documents. Unfortunately, the simple construction of the Canon Pixma iP1700 makes it quite unreliable when printing slightly complicated projects.

Design

This inkjet colour printer is designed to be an efficient photo printer. It measures 6.5 inches tall, 10 inches deep, and 17.2 inches wide and integrated with the 2-cartridge system that consumes a minimum of 2 picoliters of ink. The built-in 96kb RAM contributes to the acceptable speeds of the Canon Pixma iP1700. There is a 100-sheet capacity paper feed at the back, but there is no output tray. The Canon iP1700 printer mainly relies on wired connectivity via USB.

Advantages

The Canon Pixma iP1700 is very affordable; its speed is also decent at up to 22 ppm in monochrome and 17 ppm in colour. Users can print borderless photos in a high 4800x1200dpi resolution to maximise the space. The comprehensive software that comes with the Canon Pixma iP1700 is helpful in letting users learn more and navigate the printer easily. The compact form makes it a space-saver.

Disadvantages

The most noticeable drawback on the Canon Pixma iP1700 is the absence of an output paper tray, so users may need to catch the paper or place the printer on an area that has ample space for the paper to land.
