The Epson EcoTank L850 enables users to print high-quality, low-cost photographs both from memory cards and directly from cameras using PictBridge technology, and this A4 printer is an ideal device for photographers either in their studios or at events. The printer uses Epson’s Micro Piezo technology to produce consistently good output, with fast photo print speeds of approximately 12 seconds per 10cm x 15 cm photo. Software included are Epson Easy Photo Print and Epson Scan. Compatible operating systems include Mac OS 10.7.x, Mac OS 10.8.x, Mac OS 10.9.x, Mac OS X 10.6.8 or later, Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1, Windows Vista, Windows XP and Windows XP Professional x64 Edition.
Design
The L850 measures 542mm x 386mm x 196mm (width x depth x height) and weighs 91.kg, with a noise level of 5.1 B. The 6.9cm LCD screen enables simple and convenient printing and scanning without needing to use a PC. The printer has one paper input tray and paper sizes it accepts include A4, A5, A6, B5, C6 (envelope), DL (envelope), No. 10 (envelope), letter, 9cm x 13 cm, and legal. The standard input tray capacity is 100 sheets and can accept 20 photo sheets. The output tray capacity is 50 sheets.
Advantages
The EcoTank L850 features large 70ml ink tanks that are refilled from ink bottles rather than using cartridges, providing enough capacity to print up to 14,000 pages before refilling and save time and money. It is easy to set up, and refilling is mess-free. It is easy to print from anywhere via a smartphone or tablet using Wi-Fi and a range of free mobile printing apps.
Disadvantages
The Epson EcoTank L850 is designed primarily for photographs and may not be suitable for individuals or organisations with more diverse printing requirements.
