Epson FX-2190IIN Printer Review
Expert review of the Epson FX-2190IIN printer
The FX-2190IIN is a speedy nine-pin, 136 column dot matrix printer that provides network capability, outstanding reliability, durability and low TCO. Manufactured by Epson who are regarded as a leading brand in dot matrix printers, it is suitable for a variety of environments, including post offices, banks and garages. Its market-leading print speeds mean that you can complete high volume runs quickly, and it has an increased power-on hours volume of 25,000, with long lasting-consumables and low power use. As well as this, this is a network model that supports both Ethernet and serial connections, enabling enhanced connectivity.
Design
One of Epson’s new range of dot matrix printers, the FX-21900IIN has a smaller footprint and a refreshed design, with a depth that has been reduced to 320mm. With a product weight of 8.37kg and dimensions of 414mm x 438mm x 382mm (width x depth x height), it is easy to place in even a small area in any business environment. It features 42 character sets, 1+6 copies and a printing resolution of 240 x 144 dpi, and it uses 55 watts of electricity while in use and 10 watts on standby.
Advantages
The FX-2190IIN has an improved USD (ultra-speed draft) of 12 characters per inch at 738 characters per inch, so it makes a significant difference to any high volume print runs such as batches of invoices, freight documents or stock reports. As one of the new range of Epson printers, it also improves the mean time between failures by 25%, which is ideal for those challenging environments where regular maintenance is impractical.
Disadvantages
The Epson FX-21900IIN Printer is designed for very specific tasks within the office environment and is not a model that can be used for general work such as printing documents, for example.
