The Epson LQ-200 impact printer is designed for the busy workplace that needs a high volume but cost-efficient monochrome printer. The LQ-200 ribbon printer is fairly speedy and versatile, making it a reliable workhorse with a user-friendly control panel for easy manageability and configuration, but it uses the outdated dot matrix print technology.
Design
Epson combines understated with industrial and universal designs in the LQ-200 printer to make it look less old-fashioned. Paper handling supports envelopes and forms, as well as roll paper and labels. There is a cut sheet feeder in the Epson LQ-200, and manual insertion of paper is possible. The Epson LQ200 is surprisingly compact, measuring 163 inches wide, 6.3 inches tall, and 13.8 inches deep. A Type B slot is available as an additional interface for network cards.
Advantages
The Epson LQ-200 dot-matrix printer is fairly quiet when printing and print speeds are reasonably fast for its size and print technology. It uses high-yield and durable Espon LQ-200 print ribbons that can last for up to 2 million characters. USB and parallel connections are available for the Epson LQ 200. Ethernet connectivity is possible with an optional interface card.
Disadvantages
The Epson LQ-200 could be better with a larger control panel with a status display screen. Compatibility is limited to older versions of Windows such as NT 4.0, Me, 2000, and 95. The LQ200 impact printer supports a limited selection of media and there are no built-in networking options.
