The HP Deskjet-3747 is a personal printer that uses inkjet technology to produce reliably good prints in either monochrome or colour. Suitable for use in a small business or home office, it has a USB interface and can be used for printing anything from envelopes and cards to labels, iron-on-transfers, transparencies and plain paper. With a compact and handy size, it will fit neatly onto any available surface and unobtrusively provide the user with a reliable source of printed materials as and when required. Regardless of the size, all offices nowadays require as standard equipment a reliable printer, and this one fits the bill perfectly for the average user.

Design

Weighing 4.41 lb and with dimensions of 16.6 x 7.2 x 5.6 in, the HP Deskjet-3747 is small and compact enough to fit comfortably into any small office. Compatible media sizes include A4, A5, Legal and Letter A size, and the printer also takes a range of envelope sizes including International C6, International DL and US No 10. The total media capacity is 80 sheets, while its maximum print resolution for monochrome is 1200x1200 dpi and 4800x1200 dpi for colour. Maximum printing speed for monochrome is 14 ppm and for colour it is 10 ppm, this is more than sufficient for most home and small office requirements.

Advantages

The HP Deskjet-3747 is a good all-round printer for the small office and can handle most standard home printing requirements. It has a relatively quiet operation and basic connectivity functions, and its print speed and resolution are sufficient for most purposes where the turnaround is relatively small-scale.

Disadvantages

This is very much a home and small office printer, unsuitable for medium- to large-size businesses. There is no LCD panel for print previews for making fine adjustments to the output, and the unit has no expansion bays.
