The HP Deskjet F2492 is a practical and affordable solution for scanning, copying, and printing requirements. It uses pigment ink type and thermal ink jet technology to produce high-quality prints, and can handle up to A4-size media.

Design

The compact HP Deskjet F2492 is designed for limited spaces and easily integrates into small working environments. It has a maximum print and copier resolution of 4800 x 1200 dpi for coloured and 600 x 600 dpi for black and white, plus a monthly duty cycle of 1,000 impressions. The scanner comes with an image editor and a Twain-compliant software interface.

Advantages

A decent scanner, the HP Deskjet F2492 has an impressive maximum resolution of 19200 x 19200 dpi. It only uses 2 ink cartridges, which typically lasts longer than usual. Drivers for both Windows and Mac OS systems are provided. This Energy Star qualified machine uses 22.8 watts (maximum).

Disadvantages

May other competing products have faster printing speeds than the HP Deskjet F2492. This printer is not capable of Wi-Fi networking and only has a USB cable. Other all-in-one products can also fax, but the HP Deskjet F2492 cannot. However, many users agree that for its price, it is a good deal.
