A sleek multifunction printer, the DeskJet F42572 is definitely a good choice for home use. It offers good value for money and delivers top quality prints. This sturdy and compact machine has a scanner and copier, and can deliver photographs and documents at about 20 ppm in black and 14 ppm in colour. Copy speeds are also impressive at 22 ppm in mono and 16 ppm in colour. The DeskJet F4272 is a superior product, but it tends to over-sharpen scanned images.

Design

The DeskJet F4272 is a compact machine that does not clutter the desk, as the pull down paper tray can be folded when not in use. It features a top control panel with buttons for black and colour copy, paper select, scan, resume, and cancel tasks. The DeskJet F4272 also has LED indicators for determining ink levels.

Advantages

Print quality is pretty good, considering the price of the printer. Colours can be slightly muted, but this can be improved with a few tweaks. The DeskJet F4272 boasts a print resolution of up to 4800x1280 dpi.

Disadvantages

The DeskJet F4272 scores very well when it comes to print outputs, although it fails in certain aspects. Users have noticed too much sharpening on scanned photos. Copies may come out looking slightly posterised. Photo printing can be quite slow; in fact, it takes about 6 minutes for a photo A4 print to finish.
