Envy 7643 e-All-in-One Printer Review

Expert review of the Envy 7643 e-All-in-One printer

Our Verdict:

The HP Envy 7643 eAIO offers all the quality and intuitive interface of a professional industrial printer but suits the requirements of home printing projects. The machine provides efficient copying, scanning and printing services in both colour and black and white. A highlight for this device is its connectivity, with the machine including wireless, AirPrint, USB and Ethernet printing and scanning functions. Alongside the up-to-date technology, the HP Envy 7643 e-All-in-One promises cost-effective yet crisp and bold printing results.

Design

This compact, stylish machine is perfect for most home office and student desk spaces, measuring just 454 x 410 x 193 mm and weighing 7.6 kg. The HP Envy 7643 features a decent 128MB memory and offers print speeds of up to 14 pages per minute in black and white and up to nine pages per minute in colour. It has slightly slower copy speeds of 11 copies per minute in black and white and five copies per minute in colour as well as scan speeds of one every 15 seconds. The machine offers printing quality of a maximum of 4800 x 1200 in optimised dpi colour and 1200 x 1200 dpi in mono. It can handle up to 125 sheets in one paper tray and has a maximum output capacity of 25 sheets.

Advantages

Highly professional and packed with features, the HP Envy 7643 e-All-in-One is a brilliant black and white and colour copier, printer and scanning device. A standout feature of this machine is its photo printing results, with bold and clear images and noticeably high resolution. The connectivity will also suit many users who need to print from or scan to a range of tablet, mobile and computer devices.

Disadvantages

Despite its amazing printing results and great array of functions, the HP Envy 7643 e-All-in-One is lacking when it comes to speed and brute strength. The copy and printing speeds are sacrificed for brilliant image quality, which may not benefit all users.
