The HP OfficeJet 3833 is a colour inkjet printer that is suitable for the home office or the small office that does not require vast amounts of printing each month. This A4 printer can handle most basic mono and colour print jobs. It is a multi-function printer offering fax, copying and scanning as well as printing. It's slow start up and print speed plus low duty cycle means it's not a printer we'd recommend for office with heavy printer use

Design

The HP OfficeJet 3833 features a touchscreen for easy operation. The design includes a colour cartridge that combines all three colours; yellow, magenta and cyan. The unit features a USB interface and is compatible with a number of different Windows and Apple Mac operating systems. The printer can handle a variety of page sizes up to A4 and a variety of paper types.

Advantages

The HP OfficeJet 3833 comes complete with AirPrint, a scan to PC facility and an automatic paper sensor. The print resolution is up to 1200 x 1200 dpi in mono but up to 4800 x 1200 dpi in colour. There is a print speed of up to 20 pages a minute in mono and up to 16 pages a minute in colour. This is a light printer that can be moved around as needed. It measures 17.7 inches x 14.3 inches x 8.8 inches and weighs just 12.37lbs.

Disadvantages

The HP OfficeJet 3833 has a maximum monthly duty cycle of 1,000 pages and a recommended monthly print volume of up to 250 pages. Offices that have a heavy printing requirement might find that this printer is not really adequate. The time to the first print is 14 seconds, which is much slower than most standard office-quality printers. The black cartridge can print up to 190 pages, which is not very high, and might be disappointing for some users.
