HP PSC 1402 Printer Review
Expert review of the HP PSC 1402 printer
Designed for printing, scanning, and photocopying needs, the HP PSC 1402 is an economical choice for small businesses and homes. This all-in-one printer can copy even without a computer. It has a monthly duty cycle of 5,000 pages and is one of the cheapest multifunction printers in the market. With its low price, the HP PSC 1402 (understandably) lacks memory card readers and does not have the usual LCD display that newer models have.
Design
The HP PSC 1402 uses drop-on-demand thermal inkjet and looks a lot like other HP devices – the printer is at the bottom and the flatbed scanner (with a lid) is on top. The control panel is on the left-hand side of the printer, and it features a small LED display.
Advantages
Users like that the HP PSC 1402 works as a standalone scanner and copier. You don't have to turn on your computers just to use the copying machine. There's a fit-to-page button right on the control panel. This inexpensive printer will exceed expectations, delivering crisp documents and vivid photos.
Disadvantages
The HP PSC 1402 lacks some features of newer all-in-one printers, such as a fax and an auto document feeder. This printer can't be used for work groups as it lacks Ethernet support. The print speed is rather slow, especially when compared to more expensive printers.
