HP PSC 1610xi Printer Review
Expert review of the HP PSC 1610xi printer
A sleek and compact multifunction that can scan, print, and copy, the HP PSC 1610xi works as a standalone unit. It prints out monochrome outputs in as fast as 23ppm and full colour documents come out at a rate of 18ppm. The HP PSC 1610xi uses a four-colour scheme, which requires 1 black and 1 tri-colour cartridge. Card reading capabilities have been added to this all-in-one, but it still does not have wireless connectivity or a fax feature.
Design
The HP PSC 1610xi measures about 17.3x11.2x6.8 inches, and can easily be carried around, weighing only 12 pounds. It has all the components that the preceding series had, with the addition of memory card readers, and a small screen for better management of scanning, printing, and copying tasks. USB still comes as a standard for the HP PSC 1610xi, and it boasts a 48-bit colour scanner.
Advantages
In addition to high resolution prints, the HP PSC 1610xi also boasts the inclusion of several memory card slots and versatile standalone printing options. The software package also comes with ImageZone, which allows the user to convert images into posters or stickers, along with OCR software for translating scanned text to editable electronic format.
Disadvantages
The HP PSC 1610xi is a little overpowered for a home user but underpowered for business use. The LCD display cannot preview photos, and the machine still does not have a fax feature, nor does it have an ADF, automatic duplexer, or networking capacity.
