This smart photo printer from HP is a high-end choice for photo enthusiasts who want top-quality prints. For an inkjet printer, the HP Photosmart 8450 produces accurate colours and is packed with direct-printing capabilities. However, it uses the outdated combo ink cartridge technology with built-in printheads, so you end up spending more for ink than you normally should.

Design

The HP Photosmart 8450 boasts direct-print capabilities from digital cameras or memory cards, and the on-the-spot editing kiosk at the front control panel is revolutionary. It uses the eight-ink print technology, which is quite new to HP. There is a 63mm LCD screen mounted on the centre of the front panel, which is great for viewing thumbnails and navigating through the menu system. The USB 2.0 cable and Ethernet can be used to link the printer physically to the computer.

Advantages

The HP Photosmart 8450 produces pictures that are visibly more vivid than those delivered by its predecessors. Multiple connectivity options make it easy to print pictures directly from supported devices.
