HP Photosmart C7283 Printer Review

Expert review of the HP Photosmart C7283 printer

Our Verdict:
star
star-filled

An ideal fit for home users and small offices, the HP Photosmart C7283 allows you to scan, print, and copy all with one compact device. It is a functional all-in-one suitable for a multitasking environment. The HP Photosmart C7283 supports USB connectivity as well as wired and wireless networking. Bluetooth is optional. Print speed is 33ppm for monochrome, but slows down significantly in 'normal' and 'best' modes.

Design

The HP Photosmart C7283 pretty much resembles the models in the C7200 series. It features an automatic document feeder for scanning or copying documents larger than A4, as well as an auto duplexing unit underneath the paper tray, allowing users to utilize both sides of the paper when printing. It measures 9.5x17.7x17.4 inches, which is relatively small for an AIO. The HP Photosmart C7283 also boasts an LCD screen along with a comprehensive control panel.

Advantages

The HP Photosmart C7283 not only allows auto duplexing and automatic document feeding but also prints wirelessly. Resolution can go up to 4800x1200dpi. The use of a 6-ink system allows the printer to produce more realistic colours, and ink tank page yields are also not bad at all.

Disadvantages

The HP Photosmart C7283's limited monthly duty cycle (3000 impressions) make sit unsuitable for high volume environments. The meagre capacity of the paper tray may not be enough when printing in large quantities. The software also takes up a lot of memory space.
