Expert review of the Brother PT-15 printer
The Brother PT-15 is a portable label printer with its own typewriter-style keyboard that supports two languages. It’s compact enough for a comfortable grip, and it minimises waste with an adjustable tape feeder. However, the absence of certain features like date and stamp, auto format and multi-block makes the P-Touch 15 labelling machine less efficient for the most demanding user.
Design
The Brother PT-15 label maker has a small footprint that measures 7.36" x 4.78" x 2.52" and weighs 0.64Kg. It has a one-line, six-character display screen and a QWERTY keyboard that is neatly laid out and angled for a more comfortable way to input data. It supports laminated 9mm and 12mm tape sizes and uses thermal transfer printing technology.
Advantages
The Brother P-Touch PT-15 label printer comes with six AAA batteries and a deluxe protective carrying case, so it can be taken anywhere from the home to the office and commercial applications. The keyboard supports Spanish and English. The memory can handle 500 characters for more versatile label production. Extra fast printing at up to 30mm per second saves time, and text is produced clearly in a resolution of 180dpi. Brother PT15 labels can easily be cut with a built-in manual cutter.
Disadvantages
Users who want to run the PT 15 P-Touch on electricity must purchase a separate adapter for it. It prints only in a single font. The Brother PT15 labelling machine doesn't support label length setting, horizontal alignment, auto incrementation or text framing.
