Ideal for daily office tasks, the Canon IR-1020 black and white office printer boasts double-sided printing and professional finishing options for better productivity among workgroups and individual users. Canon improved its engine, making it more environmentally-considerate and more efficient to run for long-term savings, but some users might be disappointed with the absence of colour printing and a more intuitive interface.
Design
With an understated appearance and a fairly small footprint, the Canon IR-1020 copier printer can be placed inconspicuously on a standard-sized desktop that can support its 22kg body. The entire unit measures 378mm tall, 457mm deep, and 520mm wide with the duplexer and automatic document feeder on top of the flatbed scanner. The IR1020 laser printer runs on a 192MHz Canon-built processor with 128MB of RAM, and its main interfaces include USB 2.0 and Ethernet.
Advantages
Print and copy speeds are acceptable for its size, at up to 20ppm. There is an auto-duplexer that helps save resources, while energy saving options make the Canon IR-1020 copier printer more environment-friendly.
