Design

Engineered with an exterior in discreet off-white/grey moulded plastic with gentle curved corners that complement any modern office space, the Canon IR-C7580i has black accents at the input and output tray areas as well as a contrasting panel that helps highlight the user interface area. The controls for the machine are a mix of traditional push-button inputs and a 10.1-inch LCD colour touch panel that offers smartphone-like functionality for ease of input and access to printer and maintenance information. The basic unit weighs in at around 270 kilograms and measure 689 millimetres wide by 941 millimetres deep by 1,220 millimetres wide. An installation area of 1,913 millimetres by 1,524 millimetres is needed to allow full access to inputs/outputs and for maintenance. The fully configured model with additional input units and finishing features needs a space of 3,818 millimetres by 1,524 millimetres.

Advantages

The standalone Canon IR-C7580i printer can print, copy and scan and has an optional fax function. The machine can also send and store. The Canon C7580i is capable of printing at resolutions of up to 1,200 x 1,200 dpi and has print and copy speeds of up to 80 pages per minute in colour and 70 pages per minute in black and white. The machine has a good paper capacity of 3,550 sheets as standard and an impressive 9,300 sheets when fully configured with additional inputs.

Disadvantages

This Canon IR-C7580i has a large footprint, especially when fully configured, that could preclude its use in some smaller workspaces.
