Made for workgroups with heavy printing needs, the HP Colour LaserJet CP5520 offers excellent colour outputs and fast print speeds of up to 30 ppm – much quicker than older Colour LaserJet models from HP. It is a basic colour laser printer with standard USB connectivity and optional Ethernet interface for those working with multiple computers. The HP Colour LaserJet CP5520 is also compatible with all the major operating systems from Windows and Mac, as well as Linux and Novell. It however, does not have any more additional features to compete with high-end multifunction inkjets.

Design

The HP Colour LaserJet CP5520 stands at 21x23x18 inches, making it more compact than other laser printers. The HP CP5520 is built for heavy work, rated at 120,000 impressions per month and the machine is versatile enough to handle various types of print media. The HP Colour LaserJet CP5520 retains the 2-line backlit display and simply configured control panel at the right hand side of the machine, which most other Colour LaserJets possess.

Advantages

One of the main advantages of using the HP Colour LaserJet CP5520 is its high resolution print quality, which reaches up to 600x600 dpi. The Colour LaserJet CP5520 also uses high-yield toner cartridges which last for up to 13,500 - 15,000 pages using the colour and black tanks, respectively. The CP-5520 printer also operates with an 8 GB hard drive and 800MHz processor.

Disadvantages

The HP Colour LaserJet CP5520 is only a single function networkable printer which lacks the extra features you will find on many high-end printers designed by Hewlett Packard or other leading brands. However, the HP CP5520 printer offers good print quality and decent print speeds.
