The HP Colour Laserjet Pro MFP M181fw is a great multi-function printer for offices or workspaces with five or fewer users. With printing, scanning, copying and fax capabilities as standard, this multi-function printer offers true flexibility and versatility in a relatively small package and at a price point that makes it viable for smaller operations. Its connectivity credentials are just as persuasive as well, with not only Ethernet and USB as standard but mobile printing via a variety of apps and devices and wireless connectivity. When it comes to speed, you can expect a print speed in both black and white and colour of up to 16ppm, while the first-print speed is an impressive 11.8 seconds.

Design

The HP M181fw will fit in just about anywhere, not only because of its subtle, unobtrusive design and off-white finish but because of its size as well. This multifunction printer measures roughly 420 x 435 x 343mm and weighs approximately 16.3kg. There is a two-line LCD display panel with an adjacent 26-pushbutton control panel for extra ease of use and three indicator lights.

Advantages

The main advantage of this multifunction printer is the amount of versatility, connectivity and productivity it offers to smaller workspaces and offices. With copy speeds of 16ppm, resolution of up to 600 x 600dpi, and multiple copying up to 90 sheets, the HP Colour Laserjet Pro MFP M181fw promises high productivity at all levels, whether you are printing or copying. The scan resolution is also an impressive 1,200dpi, while the scan input modes range from front panel scan, to copy, email, fax, and HP Scan software. This printer also promises good paper handling, with a wide variety of paper types supported, as well as a 150-sheet input tray, 100-sheet output bin and 35-sheet automatic document feeder.

Disadvantages

There are very few disadvantages to the HP M181fw, especially considering its price point, but some small offices where space is at a real premium may find it too large.
