Suitable for home and small offices with up to five users, the HP Laser 107w is a single-function monochrome printer. It is capable of printing up to legal-sized documents and on paper as small as 3 x 5 inches. This laser printer has a relatively low maximum monthly duty cycle of 10,000 pages, with a recommended monthly volume of 100 to 1,500 pages, so it is definitely intended for those who print less on a monthly basis. It is capable of handling a broad selection of paper types, including transparencies, labels and cards. Duplex printing is manual and included as standard.
Design
This printer is on the smaller side with measurements of 331 x 215 x 178 mm and a weight of 4.18kg. It has been designed to be space-saving and will easily fit into tight quarters. It features energy-saving options such as HP auto-on/auto-off technology and a power-saving mode. This printer has a USB connection, but it can also be connected wirelessly. Its simple off-white and black colour scheme allows it to blend into most office settings.
Advantages
Supporting AirPrint, Direct Wi-Fi and Google Cloud Print, this printer makes it easy to print from mobile devices at a print speed of up to 20 ppm. It includes a number of security management options, including IP and MAC address filtering. This model is equipped with a default paper capacity of 150 pages and can hold up to 100 pages in the output tray. It has a maximum print resolution of 1200 x 1200 dpi.
Disadvantages
The HP Laser 107w is a monochrome-only printer and does not support colour printing, faxing or copying. While it does allow for manual duplexing, automatic duplexing would be a welcome addition. Organisations that require more than a basic printer will need to look at alternative solutions.
