HP LaserJet 4200 Printer Review

Expert review of the HP LaserJet 4200 printer

Our Verdict:

The HP LaserJet 4200 is a workgroup printer that is built to serve the needs of a busy office or small company. This laser monochrome printer is able to print up to 33 pages per minute with the capability to produce a monthly duty cycle of 150,000 pages. This printer uses HP FastRes 1200 to increase image enhancement and can print in a maximum resolution of 1,200 x 1,200 dpi. To print this quickly, the HP 4200 printer employs a PMC-Sierra RM7065A 300 MHz processor and has 48 MB of RAM installed with the possibility to add more memory.

This printer has a weight of 20 kilograms and has dimensions 41.14 cm in width, 43.94 cm in depth, and 36.57 cm in height. The HP 4200 is a simple grey printer that has a control panel situated in the middle directly facing you. Its media output tray is located on the top and will hold up to 600 sheets. There are two separate media feeders that are able to feed up to 600 sheets of media. Each HP 4200 toner cartridge is able to produce about 12,000 pages. In addition, the HP LaserJet 4200 has 2 memory expansion slots that will allow you to increase the memory up to 416 MB of RAM.

The HP LaserJet 4200 offers duplex printing as an optional feature, which will allow you to print on both sides of a print and also save you paper. Another great feature of the HP 4200 is its dependability and response time. This printer is quick and never has any problems with printing multiple documents. The HP 4200 printer is able to print on cards, bond paper, recycled paper, envelopes, labels, plain paper, or even transparencies.

The only disadvantage to this printer is the paper tray has the ability to cause paper jams, which only occurs when the media capacity is maxed out. However, this problem is slight and should not keep you from using this printer. You should also consider another printer if you need to print very intense photos or if you have the need to print in colour.
