The HP LaserJet Pro 500 color MFP M570dw colour laser printer is aimed at the small business or home office that needs a high-quality colour printer with versatile connectivity options. The LaserJet Pro 500 M570dw multifunction printer simplifies printing from mobile devices while providing the conveniences of a copier, scanner, and a fax machine, but it lacks expandability.

Design

This 40.8Kg multifunction printer has an understated but contemporary design. It measures 538mm tall, 500mm deep, and 515mm wide, with a 3.5-inch colour touchscreen on the operator panel and a 50-sheet automatic feeder making the unit stand out. The HP LaserJet Pro 500 color M570dw MFP printer has an 800MHz processor with 256MB of memory. Media handling is through a 250-sheet output bin, 100-sheet multipurpose tray, and a 250-sheet input tray. Sheetfed finishing is included. The flatbed scanner includes the ADF and duplexing unit, while the 33.6Kbps fax has ample memory for 250 pages and 120 numbers.

Advantages

The HP LaserJet Pro 500 M570dw colour MFP reduces environmental impact with two-sided printing, auto-on/off, instant-on, and instant-on copy technologies, and centralised energy-saving options with the HP EcoSMART console. The HP M570dw colour multifunction printer is easy to set-up and install. Wi-Fi, a USB host, Apple AirPrint, and HP ePrint saves time when printing from mobile or portable devices. The scanner and printer are fast, with a print speed of up to 30ppm. Users can easily convert hard copies into digital files. The cheapest way to replace the cartridges is to buy a set of compatible HP M570dw laser toners from a discount online seller.

Disadvantages

There are no options to upgrade the memory capacity and paper capacity of the HP M570dw laser printer. The print quality may decline for complex images because of the limited 600x600dpi resolution.
