The Kyocera TASKalfa 3010i is a worthy investment for a growing business or busy medium to large offices. It delivers high-quality monochrome documents fast, and it offers a wide range of expansion options to upgrade some of its functions and introduce new features, which may enhance the productivity of a workgroup, all while ensuring lower running costs. However, it can be expensive to upgrade, and it would take up more space as it gets more components.
Design
The base unit measures 594mm wide, 686mm tall, and 738mm long and weighs 67Kg. Its laser print engine is made with the HyPAS solution platform. The standard paper handling is comprised of two 500-sheet universal paper cassettes, a 100-sheet multi-purpose tray, and a 250-sheet output bin, which is upgradeable to 3,200 sheets. The Kyocera TASKalfa 3010i runs on 2MB RAM with a 160 GB hard disk drive and processing power of 800MHz from a dual core processor. When upgraded with fax, it can transmit messages in three seconds with a super G3 compatible 33.6Kbps modem. The control panel is minimal and simple, with a large touch panel for easy operation.
Advantages
It supports direct printing and scanning to USB flash drives. The Kyocera TASKalfa 3010i supports mobile printing, too. It can easily be shared over a network and upgraded with an optional print server, fax system, and SD card slot. The duplexer is standard. The generous memory and powerful processor enables the Kyocera TASKalfa 3010i to produce output at speeds of up to 30ppm in A4. A full range of security features help protect the privacy of sensitive documents. The paper capacity is expandable to 4,100 sheets.
Disadvantages
It does not print in colour. The Kyocera TASKalfa 3010i can become bulky and occupy a lot of space in a small office when upgraded with more paper cassettes and document finishing accessories. The reversing document processor and fax are all optional in the Kyocera TASKalfa 3010i.
