Lexmark XM3150 Printer Review

Expert review of the Lexmark XM3150 printer

Our Verdict:
star
star-filled

This device is one of the most powerful in this particular branch of the Lexmark family, and as a result, it offers a range of benefits. The paper handling functions, in particular, are high quality, and there are plenty of optional extras to choose from – such as a hard disk. It’s a large device, however, and this might not suit those who require their printer’s physical location to be dynamic.

Design

With dimensions of 561 x 489 x 479 mm, the Lexmark XM3150 has plenty of room to keep all of its features in place. It can accept a range of media types including paper, envelopes and card stock, while it is also capable of handling envelopes, A5 paper and more. It also comes with the chance to add in a hard disk, which is something that some users might want to consider for that added element of computing power. The device can also be configured with user quotas for each of its functions. Security is also addressed with this device through the inclusion of such features as hard disk wiping and encryption alongside authentication and authorisation options.

Advantages

As the best in its class, the Lexmark XM3150 offers a speedy rate of 47 ppm. It also comes with a 550-sheet input paper handling functionality as standard, and there’s the option to add an extra 550-sheet or 250-sheet tray. The inline stapler will be useful for those print users who require the creation of booklets and other publications too. With a noise level of under 60 decibels for all functions, it’s not too loud when in operation.

Disadvantages

There are few downsides to a device as powerful as this one. Its weight is likely to be an issue for those who need a nimble printer though. At 23.6 kilograms, it could be too bulky for some.
