The Lexmark MS312dn is a monochrome laser printer. Despite the lack of colour printing, the quality of print and the other features will make this a good choice for any small or home office. This is an easy-to-use printer that comes with everything needed to get started and it is a great first printer for any user.

Design

Connectivity options include network connections, as well as USB and parallel connections, its double-sided printing feature is automatic. The mono Lexmark MS321dn features a sheet input tray that holds 250 sheets and there is a 50 sheet multi-purpose tray. This small printer has dimensions of around 40x38x26 cm and it weighs just 14kg, so it can sit on the corner of a desk and can be moved easily when needed.

Advantages

The MS312dn Lexmark printer can produce up to 33 ppm which is a good speed for a relatively small printer and is actually faster than some larger printers. The time to the first printed page is just 6.5 seconds, so there is no time wasted waiting for the printer to warm up. The print resolution of 1200x1200 dpi ensures that printing is clear and sharp every time. The cartridge for this printer can produce up to 1,500 sheets of printing before it needs to be replaced. The unit has been designed to be compatible with a variety of different operating systems.

Disadvantages

The lack of a colour print option could be a problem for some offices and it only handles paper sizes up to A4, which could also be an issue as it means that this printer is not as versatile as some others in the Lexmark range. However, for basic printing requirements this printer is more than adequate. It also lacks copying and scanning features which can be a disadvantage in some workplaces.
