Compared to its predecessor, the Oki C9655dn printer is a more network-friendly unit suitable for small workgroups. With built-in LAN, flexible media handling, a duplexer, and colour printing, the Oki C9655dn colour laser printer is versatile enough for creative work environments, while options to increase the memory and paper capacity are available for the growing workplace. Unfortunately, these features could be overshadowed by the high price of the C9655dn colour LED laser printer and sub-par print quality.

Design

The Oki C9655dn measures 471mm tall, 623mm deep, and 654mm wide, and weighs 81Kg. The plain boxy frame integrates a duplexer and a mini control panel with the backlit display screen. The standard interfaces include Ethernet and high-speed USB 2.0, as well as the outdated parallel port. There is a 530-sheet input tray and 230-sheet multi-purpose tray. There is room for two additional trays and a high capacity feeder. The Oki C9655dn duplex networked printer runs on 512MB of RAM and an 800MHz processor.

Advantages

Up to 20 users can share the Oki C9655dn in a network especially when the memory is upgraded to 1024MB. It offers built-in Ethernet and colour printing, with fast speeds of up to 36ppm for colour pages and 40ppm for monochrome documents. Users can save time and resources with the auto two-sided printing feature of the Oki C9655dn colour printer. It is can handle A3-sized pages. Cartridges for the Oki C9655dn contain plenty of toner and last as long as 22,500 pages for black or 22,000 pages per colour.

Disadvantages

The Oki C-9655dn is expensive and though it can print in colour, the images and graphics appear faded. Increasing the paper capacity and built-in RAM means spending more on this already pricey printer. There is no option to add a hard disk drive for the Oki C9655dn laser printer. The device is slow to warm up, taking more than a minute after being switched on.
