Design

The Samsung SLM4070 has an understated frame that weighs 17 Kg and measures 18.5 x 17.5 x 19 inches, with a 50-sheet automatic document feeder on the flatbed scanner, 250-sheet standard cassette, and 50-sheet multipurpose tray. There is room for a 250=sheet second input cassette. Connectivity is via Ethernet and high-speed USB 2.0, but there is a USB host port, too. The operator panel has a four-line display screen for easier on-board configuration. The device runs on 256MB of memory while being powered by a 600MHz processor.

Advantages

This multifunction device boasts built-in fax, copy, print, and scan features. It can process documents in high speed, at up to 40ppm on A4-sized sheets. The high 1200x1200dpi resolution with the ReCP technology produces sharper and more legible documents, while negative text can have more defined edges. It is cheaper to operate the Samsung SLM4070 because of the One Touch Eco Button feature, two-sided printing, SyncThru Admin central print feature, and Easy Eco Driver.

Disadvantages

The ProXpress SL-M4070 only prints in monochrome and the fax doesn't have full telephony features. The multipurpose output bin can only handle one sheet at a time. The Samsung SL-M4070 is expensive and users may have to spend more if they want higher memory and paper capacity.
